I found this interesting article that compared Pinterest and Bacon. Now, I am an avid lover of all things bacon, my best friend even made me an extra crunchy peanut butter, nutella, and bacon sandwich today, and it was all kinds of glorious. The article can be found here, but I will go into some of the descriptions that I enjoyed.
1. Seeing leads to action: when one sees bacon, in person, on a screen, or anywhere, they tend to immediately go and obtain the food that seems to be made only for the gods (metaphorically speaking, of course). Apparently when one sees something nice on Pinterest, they go into action and buy the item immediately because it appeals to their own interests they set up on the site. I saw this in action last week with one of my friends.
2. Too much and you’ll get fat: the unfortunate thing about bacon is that if you were to only eat it, you would eventually gain weight. The unfortunate thing about Pinterest, is that if you only stay on your computer all day and do nothing but that, you will gain weight as well.
3. Ease of integration: you can pretty much put bacon on anything and make it a thousand times better than the dish previously was. Seriously. Try it. Bacon is just THAT GOOD. It’s easy to make and easy to add to everything. Pinterest, just like bacon, is very easy to get into, and it’s easy to get addicted to.
The article has a couple other points that I found to be pretty humorous, and true, and it’s definitely a different and interesting read through.
